The new trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 has landed online to the gasps of a million swooning Twi-Hards and the embittered mutterings of people who actually judge films on how good they are, as opposed to flouncy things they’d like to see in them like me.
Directed by Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters), the pic stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Anna Kendrick, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, Michael Sheen and Kellan Lutz (none of whom can act).
Breaking Dawn – Part 1 marks the penultimate installment in the franchise which is great news as I can’t wait to see the end of it (literally). As for the trailer, it may be the stuff of every girls bloodsucking fantasy but the acting is shockingly bad, the action looks like it was directed by my granny and the writing is the usual contrived mess spawned from a bad romance novel with Vampires in it.
But then I was part of the generation that enjoyed Interview with the Vampire, Buffy, Blade and so on. So you can see how I might have been qualitatively spoiled for choice.
The franchise has roped in some pretty high profile Directors (David Slade did the last one) and Bill Condon’s involvement should hypothetically bring a touch of credibility to Breaking Dawn – Part 1. I doubt it though, as a directors only as good as his material. And Twilight is SHITE!
